Education & Mentoring

Playing an instrument has proven benefits for wellbeing, promoting relaxation and mental focus. One-to-one teaching and mentoring from an experienced artist are powerful tools for accelerated and deep learning, through personalised strategies, tailored goals and realtime feedback.

I offer bespoke guitar lessons right here on London's South Bank, focused on fun, creativity and personal development. My approach, which focuses completely on your personal goals, comes from my experience as an artist and creative professional and my own love of playing music. I know that it is possible to jump in and start making exciting music right away. In our sessions we will balance technique with instinct and feel, learning to hear and feel the music you love, as a musician. We will jam, record, analyse songs and experiment with effects and alternative approaches... there are no limits. I think you will be amazed how quickly it is possible to learn and develop a rewarding relationship with the guitar.

Due to my central location, I am able to offer lessons at your Zone 1 office or apartment at highly flexible times, from early morning to late evening and can also bring guitars, effects and amplification at no extra charge. Headphone lessons are possible in noise sensitive locations and I'm also happy to give online lessons when needed.

Dom is a great musician and an amazing teacher.

I started playing the guitar at the age of 40 having never held a guitar in my life before! I’m so happy to have met Dom, and have him teach me. With his wealth of experience, he makes things easy to learn and is super patient and cool to learn with. I highly recommend him to anyone, regardless of the level.'

'This is how guitar lessons should be! Fun, patient and rewarding. My skills are limited to say the least, but Dom very quickly helped

me get some great sounding licks in the bag and more! amazing. Super chuffed. Treat yourself! :)'

'I started having lessons with Dom as I was a huge Sona Fariq fan and wanted to learn some of his riffs! Since then we've worked on other genres. Really enjoy the lessons and it gives me something to work on in between. Totally recommend Dom, great fun and my playing has come on loads.'

In addition to being charming, and having a wonderful disposition, Dom is truly a gifted performer and composer. When working with him and Rufus Wainwright, Dom was capable of improvising on the spot, but in such a way that made him an indispensable member of the production we were working on. His personal music is also expertly crafted and beautiful. He's verifiably multitalented. I look forward to working with him again soon.

Bryan Senti

Composer on the Sky TV series, “Save Me”

'I first worked with Dom as producer of his band Sona Fariq, one of the most innovative and inspirational London bands of the early 2000's. His guitar style is both ferocious when necessary, but also heartfelt and warm. His recent foray into music soundtracks has shown another outlet for Dom's musical creativity, not just on the guitar, producing really interesting results. As a player and person, Dom is a cut above!'

'I know Dom Bouffard as an incredibly talented musician for several theatre productions in Berlin with Robert Wilson. He helped create theatrical music and songs for Rufus Wainwright and Lou Reed under very intense and time restricted working conditions. Dom is such a positive and hardworking force that it is a great joy to work with him. He is a wonderful colleague and collaborator. Besides our work together, I have heard his own compositions and seen his beautiful co-operations with other artists. They all confirmed my impression of Dom as a brilliant and most pleasant artist. I would work with Dom again any time.'

Ann-Christin Rommen,

Co-director with Robert Wilson

'I have closely observed Dom at work while I was documenting some of his collaborations with Robert Wilson, Marianna Kavallieratos and others at the Watermill Center but also in Karlsruhe and Berlin. Not only is Dom extremely versatile as a composer but he also has a unique sensitivity when it comes to working with and for other creatives. He never seizes to adapt to other artistic languages while keeping his individual musical signature alive. I highly recommend Dom for any collaboration.'
